martin pirktl Martin Pirktl was born in Sweden and grew up in Switzerland. He studied at the conservatories in Zurich and Berne under Walter Feybli and Stephan Schmidt. He graduated with a Concert Level Diploma with distinction. Martin Pirktl is primarily interested in contemporary chamber music. A founder member of GNOM, the Group for New Music Baden, he has been heavily involved in many contemporary music projects since 1994. He is also involved in lute music from the renaissance and baroque periods, centering around works composed by John Dowland and J.S. Bach. Being both a solo performer and a chamber musician, Martin Pirktl has played many premières and opening nights in Switzerland and been commissioned to compose music. Martin Pirktl has worked for years with the actor Hans Rudolf Twerenbold to perform works by Swiss authors (including Paul Haller, C.F. Ramuz, Ulrich Bräker, Robert Walser, Max Frisch) in a number of literary and musical programs. Martin Pirktl currently lives in Turgi AG; in addition to his work as a performer, he also teaches at Wettingen Cantonal School. Contact: |
